Board Members Wanted
April 10, 2008 is Edmonton Prolife's Annual General Meeting, at which we will elect new volunteer board members. The position of board member is essential to Edmonton Prolife's organization, but many people are unsure just what it involves.
Job Description of an Edmonton Prolife Volunteer Board Member
- Attend bi-monthly board meetings: Two hours per meeting
- Respond office's emails requesting input on projects: Approximately one hour per month.
- Help out with one or more of our annual events. Annual events are Walkathon, Life Chain, Klondike Days, Marches and Rallies: Approximately two to four hours per event.
- Brainstorm. On your own time or at meetings with other board members. Think up possible educational projects for Edmonton Prolife to implement: Various amounts of time. Ideas usually hit while driving, in the shower or in middle of the night!
The Edmonton Prolife Annual General Meeting will be held at the Woodcroft Public Library (13420 114 Avenue). Please note the location change from previous years.
Our AGM will begin at 7:00 pm with our business meeting at which the new board will be elected. This is not a competitive election, as we've never had more volunteers than places.
The AGM will be followed by a
presentation at 7:30 pm. Guest speaker Dr. Clem Persaud,
a retired
professor of medical microbiology and biotechnology, will speak on
